I grew up Southfield, Michigan and received my BFA from Cornell University. After graduating, I worked as an educator for K-12 art classes, and have now returned to school as an MFA student at the University of Connecticut.
Trees, flowing water, houses, open hands, stars, and green foliage wind their way through my artwork. Two bears walking on a path, poetry on heartache, and smeared pencil drawings of tadpoles, become confessional heart-on-your-sleeve explorations of passage, the nuances of leaving somewhere and coming back home. My work is about loving, it is about caring deeply, and noticing the earth we live on and the people who bring meaning to our lives. It is a call to kindness against the chaos of modern times.
